There are seven Franciscan Provinces (areas or regions) in the United States. The Provinces in the US trace their origins to friars who came to minister to the tidal wave of Catholic immigrants who arrived in the country between 1840 and 1920. For a comprehensive view of Franciscans in the United States visit: https://usfranciscans.org/home/history/
Every OFM province (region) is led by an elected Provincial Minister and Council. In Our Lady of Guadalupe Province, Father Ron Walters serves as Provincial Minister, assisted by Provincial Vicar Father Charlie Martinez, and Provincial Councilors Dale Jamison, Erasmo Romero, Patrick Schaefer and Greg Friedman.

Our Province has a rich history in the Southwest. We hope that you enjoy these photos of Franciscan Friars who served throughout our history.
Our Province is invested in our history for the sake of our future. 'A Becoming Place' is a 5,000 square foot archive that stores our rich history in the Southwest. At its dedication, the purpose of the Provincial Archives was defined as "the preservation of art and artifacts, records and recordings arising from Franciscan contributions to the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Southwest, and to the vision of Franciscan ministry long continuing here.”
